A nano-bot is nothing more than a smart molecule. It needs to be very specific (in regards to the binding site of your cells) for whatever purpose you want to use it for and just releasing a few in your blood stream isn't going to last you forever.
Also they'd be as susceptible as your own body to EM-pulses. Meaning if the power is high enough to damage the bots, it will probably damage your cells.
As for transhumanism, I don't know if I would count myself as one. I'm more inclined to count myself a neo-evolutionist.
