All though there is no official press rerelease telling us about Counter-Strike: Global Offensive we can be sure its a thing. After some chat coming through twitter by some testers and eSports commentators, Valve employee Cliffe posted in the Steam forums two words in the Counter-Strike thread: Global Offensive. Plus after senior level designer at Valve Iikka Keränen was asked currently creating maps for Team Fortress 2 he responded to say that he’s currently “working on some counter-strike stuff.” When asked if there was anything new coming to Counter-Strike: Source, he said “can’t really comment right now.”

At this time we don't know how far off Global Offensive is from release and if it's a brand new entry in the Counter-Strike series, an add-on to Counter-Strike: Source or even a console version of the classic FPS. But we should be getting some more information soon.

Well there's the next thing that will keep Episode 3 out of our hands.
Though I guess the love for Counter-Strike may soften the blow for many.

EDIT: Q1 2012 release. Keeping in mind a delay to Q2 that still leaves two other quarters for yet another game that isn't Episode 3. :wack:

I wonder what is going to be changed other than graphics...

Apparently it's going to be released for XBLA, PSN, PC and MAC, which probably also means it won't be a full priced game.

Im not very much looking forward to playing this. But I want to see what they've done with the Source Engine. Although obviously they would have prioritised framerate over graphics in a game like this...

This baby made me come back to the world of HL and Source Engine. Just wondering now, if we would be able to download custom maps.... My pc has 25GB in custom maps.

PC Gaming: no more PC, since Valve is PS3 lover.

I wouldn't see why not for the PC version.

One of the primary reasons CS has endured is because of community content.

A valve game delayed? Is this even worth mentioning?

Kind of why I didn't post it as news, not really worth it. :P
