I have been having some trouble with TF2 on my mac lately (dont criticize me on the fact that i use a mac) but it didn't do that when i first got it because when i first got it for mac it was squeaky clean and running like a charm but now every time i go to start a match, game, tournament, whatever the game goes to the loading screen and like halfway through just... crashes and its starting to tick me off and i really want to play TF2! so please help any would be greatly appreciated thanks!

My first thought could be overheating problems, but that shouldn't just cause the game to crash but the OS itself (in bad cases.)

So I have two questions:

What kind of mac are you running?

and have you tried reinstalling TF2?

have you tried validating your tf2 files?
I don't know much about macs, but it's probably ctrl.click on the game in your steam list, going to "local files" and clicking "verify game cache".

I also try the defrag option in the same area.

EDIT- i did defrag now and it doesnt seemed to have done anything substancial well... i cant open the game to find out because steam is failing to validate the game files
