Oh! don't get me STARTED on this entire concept! I'm just goint to copy/paste what I said in the rockpapershotgun comments:

Does this game have any value whatsoever beyond nostalgia?

I mean come on, the only reason why these dungeon crawlers used that tile-based choppy 1st person view was technical limitations!

2D platformers are tinted with nostalgia, but they’re still a genre of their own, this game here seems to be nothing more than willingly regressing the evolution of 3D games.

Well hell, if you gift it, I'll play it. I'm not implying this will be a shitty game, it's just that using such an antiquated movement scheme just for the nostalgialulz is annoying.
The game would be objectively better if it had proper 3D movement.
