Counter-Strike GO: newbie mode
#1 Posted 14 September 2011 - 05:28 PM
Valve's next iteration of what could be called the CS franchise: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will feature a "casual" mode, perfectly suited to get your girlfriends, mums and non-gaming friends into the heat of the battle; and feel like a real terrorist...in a good way.
This was revealed in an interview with Kotaku, with some more tidbits of delicious information.

So it is planned as a download and not a retail game. That's a nice detail. Anyway I don't see how Valve can make a Counter-Strike game that will appeal to CS players, CS:S players, console gamers, PC gamers, Mac gamers, and new players. I like the idea of lowering the skill ceiling but we will see how that mixes with tiring to keep competitive players happy....

That sounds great, but will it be split-screen?
Should I expect my mom, my girlfriend and non-gaming friends to either A: Buy their own system (stupid) or B: I'll have to watch them play (very few people like to play while others watch, especially if they aren't gamers)?
