This weekend there was an air show at the military air base in my hometown, as the years before it was awesome.
Stunting fighter jets and helicopters, I love it :D
Ofcourse there was a demonstration of the Dutch air-force, with F-16, Apache's and Chinook's.
And there were some foreign planes, a Finnish F-18 (I love the F-18 they make so much noise), a Polish Mig-29 and the awesome Patrouille Acrobatique de France and lots more cool planes and helicopters.

The Red Arrows had to cancel their show because some of the pilots was sick. :(

And it was a pity that the Blue Angels didn't came this year, I've seen them in 2006 and they gave an awesome show !!

Here are some pictures I took I wanted to share with you, enjoy.

Thought this was gonna be about the recent air show crashes, with all these stunts they do its no wonder they crash so often.

I didn't know our country had these things on locations other than on Texel and Vlieland.
I saw the military base on Vlieland - they had a demonstration, this was like 10 years ago. Pretty awesome.

The air-base is in Leeuwarden, they have a small army base on Vlieland I think, they use Vlieland for target practicing for F-16's. When I was a kid I used to sit in the dunes with my dad and watch them empty their rounds on the sand and wooden targets, man that sound when they fire those guns !!!

Their are some airbases too in Volkol and Valkenburg or something I don't know. But I'm glad there is one here in my town! :)

Cool stuff. Always wanted to go to an air show. There has been a few here in Finland, but never had the chance to go. Maybe next year!

Edit: The pics and the videos are wicked amazing! Thanks.

Thanks for the compliments guys!!
The show was awesome, the smell of kerosine and the incredible noise of those fighterjets, the perfect weather and some beer made it one of the best days of the year ! :D

The first day the Red Arrows didn't fly, on the second day they only flew with 4 planes.

They said that one of the pilots got sick, they said it at the show and in the papers.
But the truth is one of the planes got hit by a bird when they where arriving, the windshield smashed and the pilot had to go to the hospital, I don't know why they kept it secret...

Looks like they have very, very bad luck last time, a month ago a plane of them crashed and one of the pilots died...
When they arrived they were with 8 red planes and 1 black plane.

Red Arrows flew the second day with 4 aircrafts. I worked at the Airbase during the airshow. I was a spectator the second day.

Awesome stuff indeed Posted Image

Cool, what did you have to do? Didn't think I could have seen you between all those people

And here some very nice movies from the show I just found on youtube, for everyone who likes it.

Here we have Brumisators compatriot, in a very lovely F-18 !! (together with the best airshow music !)

Gotta love the Mig-29 !! I think it runs on vodka.

The airpower demo is also very cool, they demonstrate how a real battle goes (they try)
