So Google has finally officially released details on ICS to the public and it looks amazing.

Some of the new features:
  • hardware acceleration
  • multicore optimization
  • face recognition
  • redesigned UI and font
  • buttonless bezel
  • BEAM nfc powered file transfer
  • scaleable widgets
  • new and completely revamped camera, music, and gmail app
  • Data moderating system
  • improved voice input
  • New keyboard with improved detection, prediction, and spell checking

Tech Crunch has a full demo available. Is anyone else as excited for this as I am?

Looks ok, don't like how the lock screen looks though.

This looks quite neat. Google is going to crush Apple if Apple doesn't step it up I think.

By 'nuke' they mean meltdown of your computer's cores. Chernobyl was just the alpha test of Crysis.

iOS is a complete self contained ecosystem, its hard to beat it when you have different manufacturers offering you different flavours of the os each month, it confuses people and drives them to apple.

I haven't read and watched about android much but how is Google going to crush them... ICS doesn't look like as big of an update as iOS5 was to me, but I do want to try an android phone to compare them its hard to get an impression from watching just the videos.

Well, unlike the iPhone, you can actually change the lockscreen to look the way you like. I mean you can even replace the whole lockscreen app if you'd like (custom ones in the market, where you have more customization options, like widgets on your lockscreen!). Also, Apple won't get crushed. They won't get a huge market share, but they don't even want it. They have their target group, of which they are making ridiculous amounts of money and are totally happy with that. Now that Steve is gone though, they might try to get into cheaper mobile phones too.

Tired and in pain. The lousy thing is that during the testing MRI etc, they found something on my liver. I may need additional surgery. I know there are a lot of unbelievers on this site but for those who are, I ask that you please keep me in your prayers. I will keep you all posted as time allows.

Cheers!

Thanks sui!

Im home for at least the rest of the week recovering. Still have some pain, but not as bad as it was initially. The thing is I have not been able to sleep! Going to my doctor today, gonna ask for sleep meds.

Also, the MRI showed a large mass of sorts on my liver. I need to go to a liver specialist now to see what's up with it and if it has to be removed. Initial thoughts are that it is not cancer, which is great.

In an attempt to stay on topic, I am really looking forward to this phone! Definitely gonna pick one up.

How about you Bill?
