I found your link to this forum and noticed that you offer help for Steam related issues. Skyrim released today, I bought a digital copy for myself and began the download, and through the Steam client I purchased another copy to "gift to a friend." The funds are missing from my bank account but the gifted copy is unavailable to for my friend to download. it has been very frustrating and I tried opening a ticket and called the Valve phone number. I don't know if this is a common problem or if anyone else has experienced a similar issue, but any and all feed back will be greatly appreciated. I have been so aggravated for the past 4 hours trying to figure this out. Please, and thank you for your input.

Once you get a response from valve I'm sure they will be able to clear it up, do you have the receipt email? It should also show a list of what you gifted in you account under the 'store transactions' tab just so you have proof you did it.

What is the status of the gift? Is it redeemed? Is it pending?

Did you receive an email from steam confirming you purchased the game as a gift?

Did you send it via steam directly, or via email?
If it was via email, try again, or possibly try again tomorrow if it gives you any crap.

That's the part that is puzzling me the most. When I go to my account and click on "store transactions" it shows my purchase history. The copy I bought for myself says "purchased" as well as the other game I downloaded some months ago. but the gifted copy is "pending" status. I bought them within minutes of each other. As I already said, the funds are missing from my bank account, and under "store transactions" it shows it pending, (for whatever reason) but there is nothing available in the tab when i click "manage gifts and guest passes". Also, I got the email receipt instantly from the copy I bought for myself, but never received one for the "gifted copy". And I wasn't sending it to an email address, I chose the gift a friend option which is supposed to "immediately" (according to the support forums) making it available for my friend. Issues like this really take the "convenience" factor out of buying digital copies from Steam.

Well, after hours of pointless stress and research it finally went from "pending" to "purchased". I just can't for the life of me, figure out why it took so dang long. Thank you to those that took the time to read my ranting posts, lol. And also thank you for your feedback. I guess time and patience was the answer, and I fell short on both, but thankfully my issue is resolved. Again, thank you for your input and happy gaming!
