that V8 is huge because it's a passive cooler, meaning it has no fan and is completely silent.
If you're not intent on overclocking, you can stick with the stock cooler, it'll do fine.

Well that's the thing, the processor was given to me for free so I do not have the factory fan.

It's not that huge then. As I said before, just get any small compatible cooler, unless you want to overclock, then get a big slab of copper and/or aluminium

Haha, it weights around a kilogram I think. It does have a backplate behind the motherboard to support the weight. Can't be good in the long run though, but it's probably fine for the life expectancy of the mobo anyway.
