Got a new processor, a athlon X2 6000, what is a good cpu fan and heatsink for it?
What I am looking at.

Cooler Master V8, read some good reviews about it.
Especialy if you're American, they love V8's.

Well those sinks you were looking at looked tiny, so you're probably just as well off with the stock cooler.

that V8 is huge because it's a passive cooler, meaning it has no fan and is completely silent.

If you're not intent on overclocking, you can stick with the stock cooler, it'll do fine.

Well that's the thing, the processor was given to me for free so I do not have the factory fan.

Damnit dick, you're right! How silly of me.

It's not that huge then. As I said before, just get any small compatible cooler, unless you want to overclock, then get a big slab of copper and/or aluminium

Haha, it weights around a kilogram I think. It does have a backplate behind the motherboard to support the weight. Can't be good in the long run though, but it's probably fine for the life expectancy of the mobo anyway.

was thinking this couldn't be to much bigger than my zalman fan/heatsink but i just looked up the stats and mine only weighs in at 530grams. and its huge.
