So I just ordered the new Mortal Kombat collections pack thing on Steam, and upon installing the game I start the game windows live games asks me to put in my account information so i put in my info and they ask for cd key, then loads for a few then says theres a update but then after clicking download it says I don't have internet connection...which is obviously false.. so I try and go to the forums and see if there are similar issues, and well ... I can't load the Steam forums/support the pages just wont load. I've tried logging into the actual Windows live games website and i can log into my account there on the site but it's really slow. So not sure why in the steam i can't log in even for the actual program on computer when i try and log into Windows live games (Looks like live messangers just black version) I still can't log in says no connection.

I've opened up the ports for Steam and windows live games and still have yet to have any success. I just got Verizon Fios about 2 months ago so Not sure if that's the issue, i wouldn't assume so but can't tell. My solution was to do a Reformat maybe I just had a sly file or a virus thing going on. So I did a quick reformat today and it's still doing the same thing say no internet connection. I tried going to windows live website to look up solutions as well and none of them work. SO not sure what to do did fresh format and opened up all the ports and took off all firewalls and it's still no go.

Does anyone have any solutions that could possibly shed some light on my problem If you have any more questions for me to be a bit more specific in some areas please be don't be shy. I cant get on the support forums to even ask for a refund on the game :*( so i'd like to get this to work.

Thank you very much and all who take the time to read this and assist me I hope to hear from you all

(I have the correct time and date also lol i know it's silly but someone has already suggested this to me :P)

From the Steam forums:

Finally got this to work, had to enable DMZ on my router and completely disable Windows firewall. Then re-enabled it after I got the install done.

Hope it helps.

Have you tried updating it manually? I mean downloading windows live games or whatever it's called from Microsoft's website.

I tried a few of the above things and it didn't seem to work I stumbled across this a few hours ago and finally think i got it too work http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935310

So hopefully it works

Edit** SO after a restart of doing it all I was finally able to launch the game and download the updates via the games online live. After i went through the steps above i just changed the order of a few of the network things and I'm able to access steam forums and the supports pages once again and also play the game :) So thank you all.

And I hope this thread can be of help to someone later if they encounter the same issue.

Sorry to hear about your steam issues. I'm currently having some too. Steam wouldn't open for the longest time before I had to kill the app. Then once I finally got it open, it had the nerve to freeze up! I bought some games and my god it is taking forever to dl.

I remember seeing something say that I had to close something because it was causing or would cause interference with steam, but as impatient as I am I didn't take the time to figure out what it was talking about and now I don't remember Posted Image
