CD Key Server failed to connect

Hello Guys,
I am posting about CD key server failing to connect.

I was gifted a game last night from a friend, and the game required a cd key.

I clicked CD Key under my library and it popped up with cd key failed to connect to server or something like that. I asked from friend to log on to see if he could check his CD Keys. He was able to do so.

After this I went and deleted clientregistry.blob and appupdatestats.blob. I reopened steam, it updated and I still received the same message.

My connection is fine and as is my steam. I am seeking suggestions on how to obtain my CD Key. Thank you for your help!

I also did submit a email to steam about the problem yesterday. I have yet to receive a repose.
