Steam isssues

After spending 8 hrs downloading Shogun 2 on windows 7 without success I then tried to load on to xp system, low and behold after another 8 hrs more lack of success. When I select play nothing happens - I am stuck on the steam page. Dont bother trying steam support as you dont get replies. Can anyone suggest a fix?? Thanks

Steam support is slow. It can take a while to get an answer from them.

We can't really help without any specifics on what is happening. You download the game and then nothing happens or it won't even start to download?
Does your firewall allow Steam access or could it be blocking it?

EDIT: Might have been a bot. I am dissapoint in myself

Other Steam games work?

Did you try in administrator mode?
