Man stuff has certainly changed around here. Mmmhhmm. I don't know why I came back. I have just felt compelled to. It's nice to see the place is still up and running after eight years. Looking back it's kind of like going into a time machine. Quite entertaining to see the old posts and new ones as well. It's good to see some of the well-known members are still posting, alive and well. I guess we're all a bunch of old bastards now. I know I am. In fact I'm starting to see gray hair. I remember I browsed when I was just a young lad and finally joined around the time I was 18. Now I'm turning 25 in December. Anyway just posting for the heck of it. Maybe I'll keep track of everything once again on the forums. I need a home base again after floating around like a derelict on the internet for quite some time. Been going from Facebook to YouTube and other websites. Well before I start to ramble on I'll end it here. It's very nice to see everyone again. :zombieattack (Ah, how I missed this emoticon!)

Holy hell, Mipac. A blast from the past. Good to see YouTube videos are now embedded. I remember the old school days when we had to click the links. Actually back when YouTube was started in 2005. You're right about not leaving HLFallout. I feel back at home. There's a certain defined charm to this site.

Hi Chomp!, I remember you. Good to know old members are still alive. Several of us are still on HLF irc, come by once in a while.

HLFallout, you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave...

I've been here for 8 years and this site ruined my life. Leave while you can.

I'll be sure to take you up on that when I can.

I guess you need a break now and then. Personally I took a long break. Believe me there are worse sites on the net that I will not dare mention...

The only reason I'm here is because someone changed my internet settings so every url I enter goes to hlfallout. It's not so bad staying here once you get used to the strong smell of onions :onion:

After browsing the forums for a bit, I've seen that it's a bit dead around here. It's not as active as it was. We used to have posts about every minute in just about every forum. Now it's like one post every two or three days.

thats pretty much it, a large portion of the community started to die off around 2009, I blame Obama for this...

but seriously, as I have heard from others, people grew up and went to live their lives, also, since we are a tight community we tend to scare new comers away, so slowly we had less new members over time.

Im surprised how many people still come to the site every day, but like many, are still waiting for someone else to post something worth writing to.

Yeah I remember when I was at school and it would be really tough to get the top posts list to have your name at the end of it because people posted back so often now its hard not to do that (and it helps the forum has a bug that displays your name next to topics you haven't posted in!) Still I think this site is doing really well to say we haven't had much half life stuff to post about. And everyone who still posts here you get to know them really well, I do miss some of the regular posters we used to have but I left hlfallout for quite a while so hopefully some of them will pop back in to post!

Welcome back. Good to see the implants while sometimes slow will always bring you back. Oh wait we're not supposed to mention those... :zombieattack

Yeah, it slowed down quite a bit here. But considering that our lives change over the years and the lack of new Half-Life game, this might just be a natural progression.
But it's kind of feels like a home base on the Internet.

It has less to do with growing up and more with Half-Life being a dead IP with no big following outside vocal loyalists on the internet.

You're right. I really don't see how growing up and maturing means that you suddenly stop going to an internet forum. This place is good besides talking about Half-Life. It can be used to get advice, discuss other games and anything else. Although it does suck there hasn't been a new game for quite sometime. Since it is the premise of this website. I would have to say that HLFallout feels like my home base of the internet.
