I played the game, its true counter-strike, everything from the sensation, the adrenaline, the smell, heck, even the same angst teens, err, men.. if you could call them that. In less than a few minutes I felt completely at home.

It felt more like a graphical update than a successor, as for improvements over cs:s, i didn't notice anything that stood out of the way to even mention it.

Graphically-wise, I didn't feel that it's that great, sure lots of details have been added, but it still feels like playing a boxy source game. The models look excellent, the guns look excellent, the sound is great, the maps, not much to cheer. de_dust2 & cs_offce look so similar to the previous version that I almost mistook office for the original.

have to tweak my settings as I noticed my computer is not up to par to output 60+ fps, but still, congrats to Valve for keeping the system requirements reasonable for most people.

As for the price, its well worth it, the game adds enough to warrant the 15 dollar price, and as you know, Valve has a streak of adding more free content down the line.

I wonder about the state of bunny hopping. It was a hallmark of all old games, it was difficult but possible in CS:S..what about CS:GO?

EDIT: apparenly there is some kind of stamina system that seems to stop people from hopping too often.

The reload animations of all the weapons really put me off this game, they are really sub-par for Valve. I had access for the Beta but only played it for around 30 minutes. Plus the reason that I am totally burnt on playing and type of CS as I played it semi competitively as a teenager.

Yeah I didn't have that much fun playing it, just didn't seem much of a step up from source

This entire game seems underwhelming for what we've come to expect from Valve. From the trailer (impressive showcase of the film maker, but as a trailer really just average) to the game itself. What's the difference between this and Counter-Striker: Source, exactly? Just a graphical improvement. I don't think this was needed, and I hope isn't just a money-cow for Valve.

Apparently it's the CS to finally supersede CS 1.6 on the pro circuit,so they're doing something right (also, raking in the millions of dollarinos).

Well, as a non-pro I'm totally unexcited by this. However, if professional players (meaning, players who care about stuff like the number of frames on the external reload animation and the azimuth in which shadows are casted in de_dune or some other thing I cannot make up) viewed CS:S as unplayable in tournaments and view this as a new alternative - then this game has purpose. I don't know much about the subject, but it always bugged me out that Valve essentially threw out people who loved and perfected playing CS 1.6 and basically told them they're not modern enough to play the new Counter Strike.

Anyways, I'm unknowledgeable in this subject so I'd love it if somebody explained a bit more. Thanks!

Are more maps going to be released? Assault is conspicuous in it's absence.
