Used to be quite into CS back in the day, especially CS 1.6 (which I think was the reason I HAD to install Steam), but I probably won't play CS:GO all that much.

I did stay up for 48 hours once playing CS:S on new year's eve 2005. (as in, played for two days and a night then partied IRL for the last night, boy was I exhausted.)

Guess I'll wait to hear what people think about it.

Also, I noticed that the infographic has M4A1, but the GO rifle is M4A4, huh?

Also consider this- the gap between the original CS and CS source was 5 years. The graphical difference is like night and day. The gap between source and global offensive release is 7 years. Yet it looks only marginally better. That could be considered as a criticism of valve or maybe the entire industry has reached a point of diminishing returns in terms of graphics advancement.

Multiplayer games tend to have a little lower graphics quality I think to cater to different ranges of computer specs but when I played the beta I saw assets from Day of defeat: Source and Counter-Strike: Source been reused. I seriously hope the graphics leap from episode 2 to Half-life 3 is going to be bigger otherwise I am a little concerned.
Even Left 4 Dead 2 had more of a step up in quality of the environments.

It's possible that Valve are pretty much done and dusted with improving this engine and are focusing all efforts on Source 2.
I guess for the hardcore CS community their main concern is that the new game is as close to 1.6 as possible in terms of gameplay. They hate gameplay changes; but they are not too worried about graphics...
When it comes to the singleplayer game fanbase it's a bit different there is constant pressure for improved visuals and so we see a good progression from HL2 to Ep2 to Portal 2.
But then there's Battlefield 3...

Actually, when playing CSGO I did notice the maps are a lot more detailed then before.
Overall still not a big step up of course, but it's only 14 euro and hasn't nearly gotten as much attention as Valve's other games. Bear in mind, they just wanted to create a CS for the consoles, but PC gamers were whining they should also release it on the PC.. so they did.
EDIT: @Humbug: I still think TF2 is one great looking multiplayer game! ^^
