Look I did all the things I need to do to get my account back when I found out what happened. I submitted a ticket and I have had no response yet...
I am worried because the last ticket I submitted it took almost two weeks for them to get back to me. I have put all the information from at least one of the games I recently bought (that I still had access to because it was also an origin game as well) This guy is sitting pretty on my account and living it up man. I have had this account for almost going on 9 years. I have seen others who have had their accounts stolen and they still haven't got them back. If the account is not returned to me within 15 days all of the games I have accumulated will just be gone and it will have been a waste of my money. I know now that my password wasn't strong enough, that I had the steamguard disabled.. blah blah blah... I don't need a lecture on how to protect myself I got it now.. all I need is a quick response.. if you guys look at the forums at all then please help me out. I don't need anyone to ask me how I am on here either.. I didn't get my email hacked just my pass.. the username is obvious... like I said I don't need a lecture or w/e just a response.. I can provide more proof if needed just answer and maybe set up a system where hacked accounts get faster preference...

Don't know really what to say as steam support always eventually get round to responding to me quicker than that. Just out of interest why did you disable steam guard?

When It first came out it would have me sign into my email each time I turned on steam it was really annoying. So your admin but you guys don't have anything to do with the people at valve do you? And yeah the last ticket I sent took 10 days. I am using my mom's steam account just to keep my friends the guy removed. The steam guard is on and it's not doing what it did before on hers. So yeah I'm going to have it on when I get my account back. Dude seriously this is the most upsetting thing that has happened to me.. I have like 89 games I accumulated over years and just this last year I built a super comp for me and my brother and we are getting all these really high end games to play with each other on and it's the only thing we can do to have family time together... This guy that took my account is just sad man he got a new name on it and he even went so far as to put he is from the ukraine and what city too. Frackin bold man.

Yeah I feel your pain, most people now have spent a lot of money on Steam so they would be just as upset as you. And correct we are just a fan site so me been admin wont help you much. But as long as you have enough info to prove its your account I'm sure you will get this resolved. Have you read up on what happened with other people who have had their account hacked? Maybe that will give you a better idea of how this process will work.

Yeah I have looked it up and that is what scares me. I see that these guys had complained back in september about their accounts and still haven't got them resolved. If they did get it resolved then they didn't let anyone know that they had it fixed. I also checked the accounts they talked about and it looks like these russian and ukrainian guys still have their accounts.. I have submitted proof, pictures of my ID, the retail game that I started the account with, proof of purchase receipts for a few of the games I recently bought... The support ticket has like 8 replies with all that stuff attached... I don't know much more I can do.. According to some of these guys on the forums at steam the people who lost their accounts are liable for what these robbers do on their accounts.. IE bans are permanent if the account gets banned etc.. THIS IS REALLY SCARY! Well if they actually check the ticket I'm sure I'll get my stuff back.. I just wish there was a way to make sure these guys don't get away with this stuff.. Good thing is that I have a couple of the games that I recently bought.. Crysis etc.. only cause it's part of my origin account.. I just got back into skyrim though and bought all the dlc's recently for those and I can't touch the game.. sad..

I got it back. It took 4 days but everything is good now.. I encrypted the pass and made sure Steam guard is on as well as deauthorized all other computers. I think my complaining to every steam site, phone and even facebook got their attention.

I don't know... I really don't care, I blasted on that fool on facebook, Made a public announcement about this particular hacker, if your gonna steal an account with over 80 games make sure you got the computer that can run em.. not just counter strike..Lamer lol he only ever played the first counter strike from years and years ago not even the counter strike source I got on there.

Good thing you've got it back. I usually get a response from Steam Support within 24 hours, but sometimes it'll take a few days (which seems to be most of the time for most people). IMO Steam should respond to hacks right-away, especially when you've even told them about it.

Just keep Steam Guard on from now on. ;)

I actually just emailed Gabe Newell on this subject (Steam support being slow) just to see if he'll answer 'cause he's cool and all. We'll wait and see what happens...
