amd athlon Xp 3000+ VS Pentium 4 2,8 ghz which would you choose?

i would say its possible to overclock it to somewhere between 2.8-3.0Ghz, if u buy a good watercooler then u shudnt have a problem. plus an advantage of P4's if they are overclocked too much and start to overheat they will turn ure PC off b4 they catch fire :tounge

YOu people have no idea what the extreme edition is..... Extreme edition is with the 2 mb cache thats it... Just buyy a amd 64 2800+ and you can murder it overcloking it a bit... Amd fx owns p4 Ex..... Your payin 1000 for an P4 ex w/ 2 mb cache. A p4 3.0 1 mb cache is only 300... Buy two of those and one of those dual cpu prosssessor mother board and there u go... P4 EX even faster with 6 ghz......

That 1 mb cache means..open useless pictures will be faster and faster... Open folder will be fast...Thats it.. Just buy alot of ram and it will open your game files faster....

IP4 seems to be more stable than AMD. AMD is used by the kind of people that are low on money, want to squeeze every penny out of what they have, and try to be like every other gamer and stick with the AMD. I noticed that my friends computer (which runs on AMD) has a bit more problems in terms of speed and stuff. Where mine would run smoother, his was choppier and stuff.

Oh yeah, and IP4 are in comparison to the Windows OS and AMD is the linux.

i'm going for the Pentium 4 ! but i found out that it have a 533mhz fsb does that slow the performance?
cause i saw a pentium 4 2,6 ghz 800mhz fsb! but the 2,8 ghz is faster ! (at least i think so)
