- Computers and Games (duh) - actually I rand and later even owned a local shop for computergames here in Bonn, but I closed that one some years ago and am a happy employee since. :)

Movies - I'm a big couch potato and fan of movies in general. No really - the genre doesn't really matter too much if the movie is interresting for me in some way or another. And even BAD movies can be quite entertaining (see mst3k)...

TV series - for the same reason...

Music - I listen to a lot of it, don't get me started, and I made some also - see www.brielmusik.de
Books - I still read a *lot* of stuff on paper (a computer in the bathtub is not my thing), and if the book was written in English I most likely will get the original rather than the German translation. Right now I'm reading "Figments of Reality" by Ian Steward and Jack Cohen - deep stuff.

Since there's no "Fav Book(s)" section below let me use this space here to introduce you to my all time favourite Author of all times (I doubt if that'll *ever* change):

Terry Pratchett, especially his Discworld Series (over 30 books to date)

If you have never ever heard of Discworld I'll give you a short description (for more go to the Wikipedia and read the long and well written articles about Pratchett and Discworld there):

The Discworld, world and mirror of worlds, actually is a world that actually is a flat disc that lies on the backs of four giant elephants that in turn all stand on the back of the star turtle "Great A-Thuin". The discworld and it's inhabitants mimic our world and habits in a lot of ways, with the twist that, on the Discworld, magic and gods exist.

On the surface the books are incredibly funny fantasy satires, picking up on all the funny clichees of that genre and twisting them a bit. Below that you'll finde that Pratchett often hides nasty social satire in his works - in many ways the Discworld is an amazingly realistic construct... It WORKS and is completely believable (for a given ammount of believable). And then the stories, inbetween, feature delightfull silliness... I dunno, I LOVE the books. :)

Favourite Characters on the Disc: Oh boy, there's so many of them... Let's see...

Defenitely my favourite books in the whole series feature Samuel Vimes and the lads from the Ankh Morpork city watch (former nightwatch). They feature several great motives, including the character of Vimes himself (a bitter, down to earth guy who rises from the literal gutter to become a Duke over the time of several books) and his struggles with the everyday problems in a fantasy city Moloch that include all kinds of magic and undead en masse...

The slow modernisation of the watch is another one - starting out as literally a handfull of rejects and failures as the impotent nightwatch with Vimes, an alcoholic, as their leader they manage to safe the city from the attack of a big dragon and thus draw the close attention of the city's patrician, Vetinari (another GREAT figure). As a result of this over the next few books the watch gets to hire more members, starting a diversified species program that includes dwarfs, trolls, a wherewolf, a zombie and later even an air intelligence gathering squad, namely the gnome Buggy Swires on a falcon - all this so the watch truly can represent the population of Ankh Morpork... And again - it WORKS out great, given the odd bump in the road, of course. :)

I could go on an on and I guess I make the rest of the list a bit shorter...

Detritus the Troll - member of the city Watch

Carrot Ironfoundersson - Human raised by Dwarfes, also a member of the watch.

Death - You know the guy, tall, *very* skinny, black robe, scythe, ALLWAYS TALKS LIKE THIS... Through allmost *all* the novels he has guest appearances but also got several "own" books now. He later gains a sidekick, Death Of Rats, a rat skeletton complete with tiny robe and scythe that provides great comic relief. SQUEEEEK!

Quoth, the Raven - The bird was named by a magician without much imagination and most of the time now serves as transport and translator for Death Of Rats.

Rincewind, the Wizzard (or so it says on his hat) - most unsucsessfull student the Unseen University (see below) ever had and who even though he is a complete coward more or less saves the Discworld on several occasions. Often seen accompanied by a large wooden chest on hundreds of little pink legs - the Luggage, a piece of furniture made from intelligent wood (magics) and extremely dangerous when it senses his master in danger.

The Wizards of the Unseen University - Discworlds largest college for male Magicians. the University itself has a story over many books, with assassinations and quickly changing archchancellors at first, but recently, under the direction of Archchancellor Mustrum Ridcully some kind of peace moved in, allowing the college (the central body of the university, with the Chancellor, the Dean, the Bursar, the Archdeacon and the Librarian) now actually gets to do usefull things in their weird, twisted own way.

The Witches of Lancre - starting out as a rip on Shakespeares Wyrd Sisters in Hamlet, but quickly gaining their own momentum and depth of characters. The most important ones here are: Esmeralda Weatherwax, Nannie Ogg and Magrat Garlick (later to become Queen of Lancre).

Oh boy - I think I better stop here, I can go on for ages - READ THEM BOOKS! XD
