Half-Life 2 is sold in a number of different packages via Steam and at retail. Read on for a summary of the different purchase options and prices.

The retail editions of Half-Life 2 can be purchased from major game retailers. You can purchase from the Ogre's Net Half-Life 2 Shop if you want to support the site while you buy.
Regular Edition

Approx. £28, €40, $68 AUD
This will be edition most people will buy. It comes with the standard complete package - SP and multiplayer support through Steam. Like all the versions, it comes comes free with Counter-Strike:Source.

Note: Officially, the regular addition will ships on six CDs (this is confirmed for the US). Reports indicate that in the United Kingdom and Europe it will instead ship on a single DVD disc. This edition will be available in three different box-art designs (the content is identical in each).
Collector's Edition

At a higher price point, the CE of HL2 will come bundled with a number of cool extras. EB Games and Gamestop are currently listing the CE for $79.99 (USD). Currently listed extras include:

It is rumoured that buyers of the CE will be given access to the other Source conversions as they are released over Steam.
The game will also be available for purchase via Steam. Valve is yet to announce whether they will also ship a DVD version of the regular edition.

Once you have purchased a Steam package, you will be able to download the games you have purchased through your Steam account. Keep in mind that a tax amount will be added to the Steam prices depending on your location and tax laws.
